This was a fun session. I love to explore and that is definitely what Kathy and Patrick wanted to do! Kathy and I are in the same church group so we have been planning this session for a while. She wanted trees and I knew the place: Cloudcroft. And then she heard of a waterfall near Cloudcroft so we immediately had to search it out. As most of my sessions seem to go in the summer (:oP), I was driving up to Cloudcroft and was starting to get really nervous about the clouds and we never seemed to reach the edge of cloud cover as we neared Bluff Springs but that didn’t stop us! Even though the waterfall was definitely more on the spring side the area was just gorgeous and reminded me of living in Germany when I was a kid.
I’ve known Kathy a while and had seen Patrick a handful of times so it was really fun to get to know them better and watch them interact. I think one thing I love about maternity sessions is seeing them glow and capturing those loving looks from the daddy.
Another aspect of this session that I love is that I was able to make Kathy a skirt that was a perfect length for her. She is tall and has a hard time finding maxi skirts so we headed to Joann and found this beautiful material and whipped up a skirt!
