Okie so sometimes I’m not super creative, like naming my new child (a rosebush) Rosie. Mostly because I talk to my rosebush and am encouraging Zoey to as well. Rosie just seemed easy for her rather than my bush’s real name ‘Lady of Shallot’.
Ever since I bought my mom a David Austen rose bush for Mother’s Day last year I’ve been dreaming of one of my own. So much so that my whole branding is pretty much centered around british roses! So because of my purchase they sent me a catalog; eek! totally dangerous! I sat down one day and looked at the back where it said ‘good for containers’ (since we’re renting I can’t plant anything in the ground) and ‘good for hot dry weather.’ I was flipping back and forth between the rose descriptions, and those two pages and the page where it lists which varieties they ship. A highlighter may have been involved :oP When I saw Lady of Shallot was a tea rose fragrance with a subtle apple spice and cloves scent I knew that was my rose. And it’s color is breath-taking.
I hope you enjoy my pictures of the first bloom! I’ve been thrilled the past two days watching it open!
